Ambassador H.E. Mohamed Arrouchi is a career diplomat with over thirty years of experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates. A specialist in multilateral affairs and international governance, he has held senior positions both at headquarters and abroad.
Detailed Professional Career
He began his career at the United Nations Department before representing the Kingdom at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, and later serving in Morocco’s diplomatic missions in New York and Washington, D.C.
Upon returning to Rabat, he led the Division of Arab and Islamic Organizations and contributed to coordinating Morocco’s participation in major regional and international fora.
Subsequently, he served as Consul General of the Kingdom in Strasbourg, where he worked to strengthen ties with the Council of Europe and the Moroccan community in Europe.
Current Functions (Since 2018)
Since 2018, he has held the high office of Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa. In this capacity, which he has held for over seven years, he embodies the African vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and actively works toward the following objectives:
The consolidation of Morocco’s presence within African institutions.
The promotion of South-South partnerships.
The strengthening of inter-African cooperation in political, economic, and social fields.
